Bahamian Cameron Kemp led a back line that allowed a league-low 14 goals throughout the regular season and had six conference shutouts.

was named the AMCC Newcomer of the Year, highlighted a group of six Mount Aloysius men's soccer players on the AMCC All-Conference Soccer Team on Tuesday afternoon. Joining Funez with AMCC First Team All-Conference honors were midfielder Jonathan Fernandez and defender Cameron Kemp, while striker Joshua Devlin and goalkeeper James Eyre earned Second Team-All Conference. Senior midfielder Kyle Marshall rounded out the Mountie selections with a spot on the AMCC Third Team All-Conference.

In his freshman campaign, Funez ranked in a tie for first in conference goals scored with nine and his 14 total goals put him in third place among all conference players. He finished the regular season with 14 goals and four assists for 32 points, which was also third in the conference. The dynamic winger was second in the league with six game-winning goals, including four straight game-winning goals in the final four regular season games of the season for the Mounties. Funez was on a tear at season's end with 10 goals and three assists over the Mounties final six regular season games. 

Fernandez earned a spot on the First Team in the midfield after a freshman season in which he led a high-possession Mountie attack from the central midfield position. Fernandez ranked third on the team with 14 points after scoring five goals and adding four assists for Mount Aloysius.

Kemp was the third Mountie freshmen named to the First Team after a rookie season in which he started all nine conference games at the right back position. Kemp led a backline that allowed a league-low 14 goals throughout the regular season and had six conference shutouts.

Devlin earned All-Conference honors at forward after leading the conference with 24 points in conference games as he contributed nine goals and six assists in eight conference appearances. Overall, the sophomore scored 10 goals and dished out eight assists during the 2017 season for the Mounties.

Eyre was named to the AMCC Second Team after a breakout sophomore season in which he registered a 0.78 goals against average and league-leading .864 save percentage. Eyre recorded eight shutouts in net, which tied for the league high. Eyre won 14 games in goal and made 89 saves.

Marshall concluded his career with Third Team All-Conference accolades after serving as the Mounties on-field leader. After missing most of non-conference play due to injury, Marshall returned to score three goals with one assist. He scored game-winning goals in victories over conference opponents Hilbert and D'Youville.

The Mounties broke a program record with 16 wins in the 2017 season, breaking the previous mark of 12 from the 2015 season.
